Course Information
Description: The American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) course is designed to train healthcare professionals in recognizing and responding to life-threatening emergencies. Nearly all healthcare workers are required to have at least this BLS class. Skills include: Providing 1 and 2 rescuer CPR/AED for adults, children and infants, using an Automated External Defibrillator and relieving choking.
Intended Audience: Nurses, Doctors, hospital/clinic personnel, dental workers, or anyone interested in the healthcare field.
Certification: Two year American Heart Association certification. Blended courses require online coursework prior to a shorter skill session with an instructor and small group. Classroom sessions require little to no online work with everything completed in a longer day classroom experience. Private RQI sessions are the AHA’s newest technology for instructor-less training and completed in the shortest amount of time and on a flexible schedule. With RQI private sessions the bulk of your training is done online with a brief basic skill session on a smart manikin system – using this will give a 2 year certification card with no requirement for quarterly reviews. There are no refunds or credit for any private or blended payments. Kiosk sessions are similar to RQI private sessions but include a virtual instructor and are for Red Cross certification.
